What am I up to these days?
I thought I will keep it slow til' the beginning of 2009 but... luckily I've got a lot of work. Yay!
- I've just finished another batch of product photography for MelonTreeBaby.com
- I've just received another load of jewels to photograph for AllisonDanielDesigns.com
- I'm waiting for a CD from NA from New Jersey USA, to do some wedding post-production
Gotta go now...

Low budget wedding photography post production - Q & A
Client: I'm looking for a service that can create a wedding album and more importantly, edit the photos and be creative with them as well. The pictures were taken by myself for a low budget wedding ceremony for a family member. I'm not a photographer as you will see in my pictures. I'm hoping that my pictures can be reborn in a beautiful exhibit for the bride and groom. I'm am attaching a sample picture for you to edit as you stated in your article on Wedding Wire online.
Rosie: Thank you for contacting me. Kindly click on the following link to see what I did, so far (with the sample photo she sent me): http://lmgstudio.xxx... Password: xxx
The best way to send me the images is via mail in a CD... Depending on that (images qty) I can give you a quote for the whole batch. Also, I'll provide you a basic contract which will state what I'll be doing, turnaround, etc. once we get into those details.
It will take me approx. xx days to accomplish your project and send back to you original CD and edited images...
Client: Thanks for responding so quickly... I like what you did especially that twighlight effect. I have approx. 150 photos, maybe less not quite sure, a lot of the photos are multiples so I have to narrow them down to the best ones to submit to you. What I want to do is be able to have the photos printed at the best quality possible so I can put in a nice wedding album. Will your edits be printable or are they for digital purposes?
Rosie: I did the best I could but the quality of this sample image is not optimal.
If you visit your private gallery again you will notice I added the "buy prints" options, the quality is stunning, Kodak Endura Premium paper... I can do $xxxx per image...
I'll need your contact info (name, address, etc) and exact amount of images to edit so I can put together the contract, nothing fancy but necessary.
One we both sign it I will issue a Paypal invoice (you will get it via email) for the total amount of the charges and it needs to be paid prior starting the project.
Client: I forgot to ask you if I will be able to review them before you send them back and will have an opportunity for some input.
Rosie: Sure, due to I'll be working on a small amount of images (yes, I usually do 600 at a time) I'll be able to upload them into your private gallery so you can review them before I copy them into a disc.
Client: I will have a total number for you later tonight and you can email me tomorrow the contract and I will ship the cd tomorrow... thanks sooo much. NA from New Jersey, USA

Holidays gifts ideas
What to give to the one who has it all? Good question.
Well, it just happens to be my boss and not only he doesn't need anything,
he has it ALL.
So my new philosophy is... if you can't buy it, FRAME IT! So I did :)
I've got this pic of his new toy and sent it over Imagekind.
I know he will love it!

What a productive day!... How did it happen?
I've been sick as a dog :(
So I don't know if it was the overdose with nightime medication and
the fact that nothing really put me to sleep but... what a productive day!
I started doing product photography with model for Girlinadress.com (coming soon)
and you are not going to believe the creativity behind the designer (9 yrs. old
girl) and her partner in biz: mom.
I'll give you more info when their website is up & running.

TGI... Friday!!!
I just finished editing two weddings for CZP... what a ride!
There was a Halloween theme one. So funny, I had a blast.
I wish I was there LOL
Anyway, I feel like I'm getting a cold so I probably will be
working from my bed all weekend long :(
Also, I'm done with the product photography jobs I had.
Taking a break? Hell, naaaaaaaaaaaaaw...
And I like it that way :)
How can I help you? Bring it on.
Have a great weekend.

On the road again...
I have to admit... there is nothing more relaxing (for me) than to hit
the road, forget about everything (yes, EVERYTHING) and enjoy the ride.
I have not much time for it these days but I needed so bad...
Now, I'm back! What's new for this upcoming week?
Well, two different editorials want to write about my Bride on-a-budget
services so I'm starting my Monday super excited!
I have plenty of work to take care of so better for me grab another cup
of coffee and... make it happens.
I have new stuff from MelonTreeBaby.com
Sweet 4 September items just arrived as well.
6 more books to go out of 7 for a client who wants to put together their 2008
trips in coffee table books and give them as presents for Xmas to his friends &
family. Cool idea! (over 3,000 photos... not joking)

Are you a bride on-a-budget?
Always, my first suggestion is to hire one of the very talented wedding photographers
we have in the market these days. Pros know what they are doing and then some, but...
While the economy isn’t the greatest I understand many couples are putting
this artistic task into the hands of friends and family to save some $$$...
nothing wrong with that.
That's why I started providing photography wedding post-production services to
on-a-budget couples who need to spice their photos up.
My time will be devoted to perfecting your photos through balancing exposure,
contrast, color, etc. Cropping and artistic editing can be applied as well.
DIY project with a Let me Grow Studio kick :)
Singles & in-a-batch images quotes are available upon request.
Feel free to contact me for more information: letmegrowstudio@yahoo.com
In the meantime click HERE to look at some examples of my editing jobs.

What's NEW this week?
Well, I can't complaint at all.
The best part of this business is I never get a chance

landscapes are amazing!
- Also, I'm starting a new product photography session for
a hair-care co., more details coming soon...
- Another wedding for ELP from NY on the way.
- Squaring out new sessions for repeated jewelry customers,
just in time for the Holidays promos.
- I have a Baptism session going on next Sunday...
Ta-ta for now,
Rosie :)

Post-processing details
I've found myself answering this question a lot so...
I decided to post it :)
All the post-production I've made and I'm doing right now
for other photographers is NOT available to the public,
that's why I always offer editing samples of your own images
to all potential clients. I understand you need to see if I can
accomplish what you are looking for.
Also, for obvious reasons I don't reveal their names.
I take copyrights and confidentiality very serious.
I do wedding/events photography upon request and when not taking
pictures you can find me working for some very talented
wedding photographers.
It's a pleasure to be part of their 'behind the curtains' team.

Product Photography - one more project done!
Photographer to the rescue
You can tell I love the photo editing part of the business.
Do you have photos that need to be retouched? colorized? restored?
I provide photography manipulation for those who already have pictures and due to lack of tools or time need to delegate the post-processing to a reliable source.
Photographers images are welcome!
Basic (fill-in flash, cropping, color balance, dodge burn, exposure correction, contrast, etc.) and artistic editing (different B&Ws, many other tones, smooth skin, image enhancement, pop up color, restoration, composition, background cleaning, noise and unwanted objects removing, etc.) The sky is the limit when it comes to creative post-production.
Single images & in-a-batch quotes are available upon request.
By using my services you can be assured that:
* Your project will be handled on a timely fashion (I don't take more than what I can handle).
* I take copyrights and confidentiality very serious and none of your images will be available to the public through my website or blog. They are yours, not mine :)
* I offer impeccable customer service. I will NOT get lost. Communication is the magic word between you and me. You'll have the chance to participate along the entire process.
Feel free to contact me if any questions and send me one of your pics so I can sample it for you.
letmegrowstudio@yahoo.com
***IMPORTANT: I can't work on images that are copyrighted without the photographer's permission.
At the time of sending me your photos, you will be confirming that you are the photographer of those pictures or that you've got permission from the copyright party.***

Product Photography - The little fine print just became bigger!
Potential client - Hi Rosie, I had contacted you awhile back regarding photography services. I need someone to redo the product photos on my site as they do not look professional enough for catalog use. I have 33 designs with 20+ more coming soon. Please remind me of your terms and pricing.
Rosie - Glad to hear from you.
I could do... Return shipping charges not included.
Let me know if you are ok with it... Once we agree on this project I'll be sending you a Paypal invoice for the entire amount prior to the photo session. I can take care of this project within 7 days...
Potential client - Can you give me specifics on copyright, terms, etc? Can I purchase
unlimited use? I have web vendors who will use the photos on their sites as well as myself.
I am willing to pay more per image to have the copyright. The important thing is that the images all look the same. The problem that I have now is that the images on my site are sloppy looking in that they don't match and some of the backgrounds are showing up.
$xx.xx seems too cheap for your work in erasing the backgrounds, etc... I need someone who can "match" previous work. Can you do this? We are a brand new company and are starting to get noticed.
Rosie - My comments are, I do charge what I charge cause' I want to get long term contracts with my clients and I actually do.
I prefer to charge $xx.xx for a long time than give you a ridiculous price and just get a batch of products from you.
If you visit my website you'll notice I do place a couple of my customers pics as samples and part of my portfolio but they don't have any other use for me: Jobs done!
I can create a paper saying I transfer the rights of the pics to you, doesn't really make a difference to me.
I really prefer for you to take as much advantage of the images I create for you as you can, so that gives ME a good reputation, you know... word of mouth.
Cause' the way I work and the way I set it up every time I start a photoshoot I really make it easy on me, same set up all the time, just different items.
To be honest with you, if the pictures are taken correctly with the right equipment there is not much work to do while editing.
Yes, in this market i could charge you $xxx.xx a piece but... my target clientele are small businesses like yours and mine so I know in a way, product photography is a luxury.
I imagine it's a matter of time to start charging $xxx.xx per pic but right now I prefer to be affordable and reliable for a long period of time.
I saw the problem you have with your current images, which is basically the one all my clients have. That's why consistency is my main goal and I believe I accomplish it.
Regards, Rosie :)

Mission accomplished and such
I just finished with the nutritional supplement photo shoot!
A pleasure to work with Vincent from OrganicallyHappy.com
Looking forward to see my images in his website...
What else? I'm emailing back and forth with a local salon/spa.
They want me to photograph them in action (doing what they do best:
pampering clients) for printing material: big posters, postcards and some
other advertising material. I'll keep you posted about this one.
I'm picking up products for the SoapSushi.com photo shoot. Excited!
Images will be up soon...
Time to get me another coffee :)

Rosie is an amazing artist, and i loved working with her. She was
always very concerned about me being totally satisfied with my custom logo.

I was having her change things so much, i thought for sure she would say

New projects and beyond...
Did I mention I'm busy? Well, I am... and not complaining about it :)
I just wanted to pass by and let you know a couple of projects I'm working on:
Custom logo design & matching watermark for Melissa M.: she knows exactly
what she wants so let me crack my fingers and start putting some drafts together
for her. Like she says "I knew i had to go with you, when your name was Rosie,
I have an aunt, my favorite aunt who's name is Rosie... we all get some sort of sign
which path we should follow!"
Also, I'm waiting for some fabric samples on the mail to photograph them as part of another product photography project, this time for Drape98 Express.
Time to go, I'll keep you posted.

Quoting Product Photography
I'm doing sample/quote for a potential jewelry designer customer.
I'd like to share some of the Q & A between us. Hopefully answer
some of your questions...
Client: how much would you charge me for something like this?
(8.5 x 11 page containing 5 jewelry samples, logo and wholesale info)
Rosie: 5 pieces, 1 picture of each + composition = $xxxx
It will include 5 single file images, which you can use separately in 300dpi
(printing resolution) and same 5 images with 72dpi (for web), white background.
Also, it will include the composition in 300 dpi and 72 dpi.
I'm assuming this is something you would be interested in, but not completely
sure this is what you are looking for.
I'm trying to build long time relationships with my customers, so be as much
specific as you need to and I'll tweak my proposal based on your needs.
Shipping charges are not included.
Jobs can be done within a week.
Client: lets say it was 10 pcs... no one pic of each, two pages?
Rosie: I hear you. 2 pages, meaning 2 compositions featuring 10 pieces,
meaning 5 on each. Single pics not included. I can do it for $xxxx
I still need to photograph items separately but edition could happen
while composing your pages. I just want you to understand how/why
my quote. The entire job would take me approx. 3 to 4 hours.
You will have access to a draft and I'll work on it til' both of us are
satisfied. What you think?
We spoke over the phone and basically she wants to fit as many images
as possible so wholesalers get the min. amount of pages of their available
merchandise.
Rosie: So far I fitted 9 pieces, added space for description of each item
and a sample logo. I like how it looks like, doesn't seem too crowded,
that was my concern.
The best I can do is $xxxx per page based on time consuming.
The price includes capturing the products per page + composition.
Kindly let me know what you think.
Regards,
Rosie :)
